Four Poems
By Tom Moore, writing as DiggyDog

All Night
the moon was gone
the stars were bright
the furious sound
disturbed the night
continuing till dawn
such carrying on
i'm weary to the bone
nearly died from the fright
of the carnage that might
ensue
from such an unhealthy brew
from two motley crews
joined in vocal battle
the dogs gained the upper hand
in sheer volume of sound
even 50 frogs can't make more noise than one hound
but they bravely gave it their all
till the moon it did fall
and gave rise to a new dawning day
but let me tell you my friend
i hope it doesn't happen again
cause they were barking and croaking
croaking and barking
barking and croaking all night!!
Sand

if you would but examine a single grain of sand,
with open heart and inquiring mind
look long and well, i'm sure you would find
more beauty, more truth, than in every volume ever
written by man
Gathered

Where my followers are gathered
They are gathered in the rain
As long as there is hunger
And hearts cry out in pain
Go out and house the homeless
If you are building in my name
Take care of the animals and humans just the same
As long as there is violence
while hatred's still around
Standing in the rain
Is where you should be found
Take care of each other
and do it in my name
You owe it to each other
I love you all the same
Don't spend your time in buildings
Go spread my Love around
Thoughts

I have had thoughts so expansive as to embrace the universe
I have had thoughts so deep as to penetrate the very core of existence
I have had thoughts so true as to endure to infinity
yet I remain
a mortal man
immersed in my chosen confusion
Where it ran
